20/01 - Coogee to Bondi walk

Late start again,i am not sleeping great in dorms... As soon as I hear a noise, it wakes me up... Luckily I was back in a bed downstairs, so my "fort" hleped me sleep a bit longer (and not be bothered by the lights).

I had a strange dream, maybe an idea for a book. D. came and hugged me in my fort, but I was nt ready to get up, I wanted to think about my dream some more + I also had Kelly Clarckson's song "dark side" stuck in my head since waking up, and I had to listen to it a few times.

Once up, shower taken, I met D. downstairs for breakfast. Then we got ready for the beach and mnage to get the bus at 12:15, it took us 1h to reach Coogee. It is hot and beautiful, the sun even burns our feet! We both went for a swim at seperate times. We moved to the shades to rest a bit (and not get sunburnt). Our chosen spot was on the hill at the left hand side of the beach under a tree. The view is really nice!

I fell asleep, as usual after taking the sun! (and sleeping badly!) D. woke me up and we started our walk from Coogee to Bondi. The idea is to walk along the seaside, stop a nice beaches and swim to keep fresh.

We followed the seaside but at first it was not always clear where to go. Something that I noticed, is that Australia has a lot of water fountains pretty much everywhere!! this is brilliant!! and really handy! I think a few European town could learn a thing or two!

We walked quite a lot, the scenery is beautiful! Rocks, cliffs, ocean spreading far away, beaches...

We went pass the most beautiful viewfor dead people: Waverly Cemetry). I would not mind to be buried here (if I could not be incenerated - my 1st choice).

We stopped at Bronte Park for lunch, we found a free table in the shade. After that we moved to the grass (more confortable), and D. went for a swim. Bak on a the path later and in Tamarama Beach D. got changed into his shorts again (end of the fun?).

We finished our walk in Bondi Beach, the sun was gone but there was still a lot of people on the beach, a lot of them were people coming for an evening swim after a day at work. I went for a swim and stayed a while there, not even 2 meters away from the beach the water was quite deep and the waves were strong, I felt a few times as if I was flying (in the water...).

I dried and we took the bus 333 home, we had to change in town and top up our Opal cards. We thought of getting money out for our Australian bank accounts but changed our mind.

Back in the hostel, I was not hungry, so I stayed in the bedroom and worked on the blog. D. went downstairs and had a cheese sandwich. I updated the blog a bit, but loading the pics is taking ages... I was in bed around 1am.
