1st full night!!!! The old guy did not snore, either because my trick from yesterday worked or because the old guy did not sleep... This morning, I felt good, a bit sore from my sunburns, D. too. For me it hurts especially on my forehead and a bit on the shoulders. Mosterise! is Damien's motto right now, a bit of a broken record, but he is right :)
We had breakfast and decided what to do for the day. Important things: the banks and dinner tonight with Simon (a German guy we met at the hostel our 1st night - BBQ night). We are eating out in Darling Harbour because it is his last night in Sydney. Because we are eating out tonight and because we are trying to keep our costs low, we decided to eat in the hostel at lunch. So before that we did some planning for the rest of the trip.
We planned on the roof terrace, in the shade but the place is outside and protected (from sun and wind), it is a nice place to be. D. is using the computer to figure out seasons, weather and when are the best time to visit what. So on my side I am updating my travel journal and for the 1st time playing with my inks, stamps and washi tapes (a bit of scrapbooking so far away from my stash, it feels good, liberating!).
After some late lunch, we headed to town with the bus and separated to each go to our own bank. Why different banks? because we are trying to cover as many ATMs as we can, in Australia you need to pay to get money from a different bank than yours $2 per cash withdrawal (so after 12 months that could be a fortune...). We both got what we needed and met in Hyde Park.
While in town, we went into a few craft shops, I was looking for some ink and washi. No luck with the ink but got a few washi and 2 felted pens "tombow" for calligraphy. We ended up in QVB, Queen Victoria Building, a really nice victorian building that host a fancy shopping center. We stayed at the top floor for a while (using they cough and free wifi!!).
Around 7pm we headed to Darling Harbour to meet Simon and have our bargain dinner!! ($10 for rumsteack, fries and salad!). Simon was running a bit late so we discussed plans for this year (when to travel, where, for how long, when to work...).
Dinner at Cargo Bar was nice, the offer is actually not advertise anywhere (we saw it online) and if you don't ask for it, not sure you get it! The dinner was fine (but I would not have been happy to pay for the real price $24) but the drinks were EXPENSIVE!!! £8 the beer, the guys had two so I got myself Onion rings!
We walked back to the hostel just the two of us as Simon wanted to see the Opera House by night. I was too tired to go with him, plus I did not have my camera with me. Showers and bed.

Walked 7.2 km today.
Slept in a mixed dorm (full of smelly guys), in Glebe Point YHA, in Sydney
