16/01 - Eerie (wet) Land

Woke up, it is still raining... We are leaving today and we were hoping to do one last walk before heading back to Sydney. We ate breakfast around 10am, then we waited for the weather to improve... Around 11.30 we decided to go out as it seemed to have stopped raining. After 10min it started again, but not that strong so we continued, once in the trees we should be protected. We headed towards Leura falls. On the way we saw some pretty houses:

At the 1st lookout, the view was nice but within 2 minutes it completly disappeared in an opac fog... It really felt like a wave of white smoke was running towards us.

BEFORE
 AFTER

We could not see anything anymore. The fog was everywhere, the whole atmosphere changed and became kind of EERIE (elves, trolls - norvegian ones -, and dinosaures could have been real!). We went to the falls seeing them on and off (due to the fog) and decided to go further down and do the cliff walk (experience walkers only!)

We went down in the trees and walked along the cliff side (the climbed everything back...). In the trees, we were "protected" from the rain, apart from a constant wet feeling on our skin.

wet, a bit tired but happy

At the end, we walked back to the hostel, dried, had lunch and took the train back to Sydney around 3.30 (so many people...). In the train we played at Splendor on D.'s phone. It is a card game that we discovered in Draughts (London board game café). And this morning, while we were waiting for the rain to stop D. bought the app. It was fun and entertaining enough to use up some of our train time on it. Damien won...

We were in Sydney by 5.40pm, did some grocery shopping and by 7pm we had re-checked in, in the YHA hostel in Glebe but this time in a double bedroom for 2 nights, on the ground floor.

D. cooked dinner and I "Vibered" my family, they were having breakfast and all my sisters were at home, it was nice! Then it was dinner time, then a bit of blogging and bed!

Walked 7.3 km today.
Slept in a double bed, in Glebe Point YHA, in Sydney
