19/01 - Victoria Park and Broadway

ARGGG life (or at least nights) in a dorm is hard... Did not sleep much due to one of the roommate being ill and coughing a lot and loudly... So I caught up on sleep in the morning once he left the room. D. got up before me and worked on the laptop for a while.

Once I was smelling like roses and all dressed, I joined him and we had brreakfast. I got to talk more in depths with Jesse (NZ guy but who has lived in Australia for the last 8 years), he is heading to US/Europe/Norway soon. Today I discovered he is actually working on a novel (SF) so we got talking about writing and books and movies for a while.

In the meantime D. went to pick up his Bank card in town and we met around 1.30pm at the end of Glebe Point Steet, facing Victoria Park. I forgot to ask him for the key of the locker before he left, so when it was time for me to join him I realised I had: bag, wallet, all my glasses... in the locked locker... Luckily the camera was charging, so I took it with me and the rug for the park.

We had a nice lunch in the park, rested for a little while and we also play a second game of Splendor on D.'s phone (he won again...).

After that we decided to go for a walk in Broadway area, we saw a lot of architecture around UTS (University of Technology Sydney).

Before going back to the hostel, we did some groceries and had a look at Broadway shopping center. D. cooked dinner while I did some research online for specific items that we are looking for (D. is trying to "build" himself a "travel kitchen"), and talked to the French guy.

We had dinner, I did the dishes while D. went out for a while (and came back with ice-creams!!) and I did some blogging. I couldn't publish anything because I was missing some of the photos from D.'s phone. Plus the battery died, so I switched to my travel journal (the hand-written one).

It is half-midnight, bed time !

Walked 8.6 km today (for Damien, I did a bit less 4 km).
Slept in a double bed, in Glebe Point YHA, in Sydney
